In 2008, a major $40 million refurbishment of the pier was undertaken by Atlantic Group [v] of Companies, to create an internationally renowned event and dining mecca that would offer world-class event and hospitality experiences in Melbourne in its Shed 14, Central Pier location. Today, Atlantic Group [v] of Companies is widely regarded as the innovative leaders of Melbourne's event and hospitality industries and is the proud recipients of over 38 business, tourism, hospitality and event awards in the past five years for its four function venues: PENINSULA - One of Melbourne's most expansive event spaces, Peninsula features nine-metre ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and a stunning 66-metre chandelier, which is the longest in the southern hemisphere. MAIÀ - With an earthy yet elegant ambience, MAIÀ features a shipping-crate inspired bar, original loading doors, cathedral-style ceilings, expansive windows and generous natural light that compliments its waterfront setting. SUMAC - With hand-etched floorboards, luxurious fabrics, rich metal latticework and splashes of vibrant fuchsia, Sumac blends Moroccan décor with classically opulent high ceilings, rich hues and sweeping curtains. The result is a unique and captivating setting for events of all kinds. SKETCH - The opulent and sophisticated venue Sketch offers a stunning edge to events, with its glass-mirrored bar and feature wall elegantly reflecting views of the water from its floor-to-ceiling windows.
