    June 07, 2023

Your organisation wants to send a group of employee superstars on a three night trip as part of reward incentive program. It needs to be memorable and exciting. Include activities for a variety of personalities. Fit within the budget. And most importantly, make the lucky delegates chosen for the trip feel thoroughly spoilt.

    So where do you start?

This is where the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) enters from stage left. MCB provides a free service to business event organisers, helping you plan the perfect Melbourne incentive program for your team.

The pressure is taken off finding the perfect accommodation. The perfect venue for a gala do. The perfect group activity. The perfect event suppliers - from transport and entertainment to caterers and team building specialists. All you need to do is get in touch and MCB will take you under their wing.

To give you an idea of how MCB rolls - here is an example of a successful incentive reward trip we recently hosted for a group of 242 delegates from Indonesia.

    The accommodation

This group chose to stay at the fabulous Crown Metropol.

Crown Metropol is a popular hotel located in the heart of Melbourne’s Southbank district along the Yarra River, with easy access to Crown Casino, shops and restaurants. The hotel has one of the best heated infinity rooftop pools in Melbourne, with amazing views of the city and day beds to enjoy a cocktail after a swim.

    The itinerary

The group stayed in Melbourne for three nights and enjoyed a fantastic balance of organised activities and free time to relax by the pool and explore Melbourne.

    Day one

The program kicked off with a welcome seminar in Crown Palladium, followed by a delicious lunch at Melbourne's famous Red Emperor in Chinatown.

MCB partners with a variety of restaurants throughout the city, perfect for hosting small or large groups, including Victoria by Farmer's Daughters and Eureka 89.

    Day two

Choose your own adventure. Delegates were able to choose which type of experience they would prefer to do.

    Group A

Group A chose to go on an early morning hot air balloon flight in the Yarra Valley wine region, followed by breakfast at winery Balgownie Estate and a Werribee Zoo Safari Tour.

     Day Three

The group boarded Port Phillip Ferries from Melbourne to the coastal town of Portarlington on the Geelong Bellarine Peninsular, where they cruised to a fresh mussel farm. A mussel trawler anchored alongside their ferry and pulled up mussels on a rope to show everyone how they are caught, followed by a tasting fresh from the sea.

Arriving back in Portarlington, the group were treated to a mussel cooking demonstration and tasting at Claribeaux Restaurant in Curlewis Golf Club.

The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping up a storm at the famous Chadstone – The Fashion Capital complex, home to over 500 brands and a unique dining and entertainment precinct called the 'Social Quarter'. In the evening, delegates were able to explore the city at leisure, discovering Melbourne's world-famous dining and bar scene.
