The City of Melbourne has nearly 480 hectares of internationally acclaimed parks and gardens including the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, one of the major surviving nineteenth century exhibition precincts in the world.

The Carlton Gardens are a popular picnic and barbecue area, and home to an array of wildlife, including brushtail possums.

Dramatic tree-lined avenues, a majestic fountain, formal flowerbeds and miniature lakes are features of these late nineteenth century Gardens.

The magnificent Royal Exhibition Building still operates as a functioning exhibition hall. The building is beautiful inside and out - a true landmark of Melbourne. Dozens of trade fairs and public expos are held at the Royal Exhibition Building annually, continuing 135 years of bringing new ideas to Melbourne. It is also available to book for business events via Showtime Event Group, with seated capacity for up 2,500 people
