  • ICCA Asia Pacific Workshop 2019

    The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific Chapter Business Workshop 2019 was recently held in Melbourne.

    Last Monday 16 to Wednesday 18 September, 19 ICCA members and 16 of their association leaders connected for business sessions at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre (MCEC).  

    The Workshop is an annual event organised by the ICCA catered to its members in the Asia Pacific Chapter. The Workshop is a unique platform for members to introduce their clients and further expand their network by connecting with association clients invited by other ICCA members through this collaboration.

    The three-day workshop showcased Melbourne's capacity and capability to deliver successful business events, to key decision makers from associations looking to host their events in Asia Pacific.

    Day one commenced with a Workshop Introduction Session followed by the Great Minds Live Here Welcome Dinner at Crown Metropol Melbourne. MCB’s Acting CEO Julia Swanson, welcomed delegates with a presentation during the dinner. 

    Day two was full of business workshops at the MCEC, followed by a site inspection of the great facility. The day concluded with a Gala Dinner at the beautiful State Library of Victoria.

    Day three delegates enjoyed a walking tour of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct and a panel session which covered opportunities and challenges for International Association Meetings on Asia-Pacific. The workshop will conclude with a farewell lunch at University House.   

    The 2019 Workshop was organised by ICCA in collaboration with Melbourne Convention Bureau and their following partners Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre, Club Melbourne Ambassador Program, Crown, Novotel South Warf and Showtime Events.
