Terracotta Warriors High Tea at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins
June 06, 2019
Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is celebrating the Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality the new Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria with a special high tea.
Guests are invited to ‘Unearth’ their love of culture and art with an Asian-infused high tea buffet and to get creative by painting chocolate Terracotta Warriors using edible chocolate fountains in four colours; Dulux Mint Twist, Dulux Symphony Red, Dulux Midas Touch and Dulux China White.
Once brightly coloured, a platoon of clay warriors were concealed over 2,200 years ago with China’s first emperor Qin to accompany him to eternal life.
Sofitel’s General Manager, Clive Scott mentions, ‘This new high tea concept is quite unique, bridging the Chinese culture of the past with the artistic flair of our very talented international pastry chef, David Hann’.
Pastry Chef, David Hann has crafted an Asian high tea featuring chocolate & pineapple wontons, red bean bombes and matcha macarons. All the desserts will be accompanied by a hot buffet selection of Chinese favourites, including steamed pork buns, crispy prawn fried wontons, char siu sandwiches. Full menu can be viewed here.
High tea gastronomes can embrace their inner artist at Sofi’s Lounge from 2.30pm every Saturday and Sunday until 13 October 2019 for $99 per adult.
