Get the latest insights on international markets, tourism trends and the digital world from key industry leaders at Destination Victoria 2023, held on 16 – 17 May at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Hosted by Visit Victoria, the annual tourism conference for Victoria’s visitor economy brings together Victoria’s tourism, events and hospitality industries.

Under the 2023 theme ‘Opportunity Awaits’, Destination Victoria aims to energise, educate and inspire our industry with insightful information and practical tools to ensure strong and sustainable growth for the Victorian visitor economy.

Master of Ceremonies and journalist, Karina Carvalho, will lead an exciting program featuring a stellar line-up of inspirational leaders, industry experts and Victorian operators.

Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) CEO Julia Swanson will be joining a panel of experts on day four, including Visit Victoria’s Kelly Dickson; Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Paul Gauera; and Danni Jarrett, CEO of Invest Victoria and Global Victoria. The session will explore how Victoria’s business events and world class event calendar remains critical to the success of the state’s visitor economy recovery and what this means to the Victorian events supply chain.

MCB will also host a breakout session - Business Events: Unlocking Year Round Opportunities for Your Business. Moderated by MCB’s General Manager Sales, Beverley Williamson, the panel of business events clients, experts and suppliers will provide insights into business events in Victoria, including the benefits to the state and the opportunities they present for Victorian suppliers, products and services.

Between 700 – 1,000 participants are expected to attend the conference, from across all aspects of the visitor economy – from small family-owned accommodation and sole-trader tour operators to significant hotel groups and major attractions and event organisers, wineries, restaurants and farmgate operators, to Regional Tourism Boards and Local Government Authorities.

A networking event will be held on Tuesday evening at Aerial by Showtime Event Group – a must do to connect with industry peers.
