Melbourne is one of the World's top 10 safest cities to visit

Melbourne, Australia is one of the World's safest cities to visit in 2019.

The Economist Intelligence Unit has revealed that Melbourne is one the top 10 safest cities in the world to visit, as a part of their 2019 Safe Cities Index (SCI).

The Economist Intelligence Unit has ranked 60 countries based on the following:

• Personal safety
• Health safety
• Digital security
• Infrastructure

How a city recovers from a disaster is also important. The SCI analysed resilience, including availability for emergency services, transport facilities, disaster-risk initiatives, cyber security and catastrophe insurance.
