MCEC’s sustainability plays to EEAA Leaders Forum’s topics
May 02, 2019
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC) reputation as a leader in sustainability makes it a perfect fit to host the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Leaders Forum and Conference in June, according to EEAA chief executive Joyce DiMascio.
“With two of the key themes for this year’s event focusing on environmental sustainability and talent acquisition, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is an exemplary host, having implemented a number of industry benchmark sustainability initiatives and career training programs.” she said.
Peter King, MCEC’s chief executive, said the venue is a leader in sustainable business practices.
“As winners of the Best Corporate Citizen Award for the 2018 EEAA Awards for Excellence, it is fitting to be named as the host venue of this year’s EEAA Leaders Forum and Conference, which has a special focus on environmental sustainability,” he said.
“[We] continue to achieve outstanding results with initiatives such as the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project which has enabled us to offset the projected electricity use of our 20,000 square metre expansion space with renewable energy.
“We will continue to collaborate with our customers and industry partners to ensure MCEC remains a truly sustainable events destination.”
