MCB’s Beverley Williamson takes over chair role at BestCities development group

Melbourne Convention Bureau’s Beverley Williamson is taking over from Dubai Tourism’s Karina Lance as chairperson for the BestCities Global Alliance Strategic Business Development group (SBD).

Williamson, who is MCB’s general manager of business development and bids, takes up her position as BestCities prepares for its fourth annual Global Forum being held this December in Copenhagen.

“I’m delighted to be taking up the position of Chairperson of the SBD and will work to strengthen the BestCities brand both globally and regionally, ensuring that alliance cities continue to focus on sharing knowledge and information,” Williamson said.

Paul Vallee, managing director of BestCities Global Alliance, thanked Lance for her hard work in the role.

“Karina played a major role in developing tactical marketing initiatives and provided strong and focused strategic leadership,” he said.

“Beverley will have a vital part to play in developing strategic plans and partnerships and strengthening the relationship and engagement between the SBD and clients and alliance cities.”
