    Business events have been widely affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. Hundreds of events, both local and international have been cancelled or postponed, taking a toll on many players in the business events industry.

    However, we are seeing the industry rise to this challenge and show resilience and flexibility to adapting to our changing operating environment in new and creative ways.

    MCB is proud to recognise how many of its industry partners have used these extraordinary and uncertain times to kick-start innovation, learn, review and pivot current processes to come up with creative initiatives.

    Metropolis Events

    This spectacular city venue has launched its new project 'Made For You' - an initiative which has allowed the business to continue to provide exceptional service to clients.     Showtime Event Group

    Leading event producer, Showtime Event Group, has been running online events that include catering delivered to all attendees, online production management, and facilitation of entertainment and engagement activities. Taking what they do best within venues, online.

    The team quickly invested in a new approach to taking events online. This included the setup of a production studio in Cargo Hall allowing events to stream online, and the ability to order catering to be delivered to all event attendees. They also developed a range of curated experiences focused on keeping event attendees connected with exercises that work the brain, include physical activity, and encourage creativity. These include cooking master classes with the groups’ Head Chef, Trivia, Mindfulness sessions, and Amazing Race challenges.

    The talented team at Harry the hirer has developed some incredible new initiatives to help organisations right now manage social distancing measures and implement health precautions as well as supporting the wider community as creators of temporary medical facilities.     Zoos Victoria

    Melbourne Zoos has set up 24/7 live streams of your favourite animals. From penguins and giraffes, to lions and leopards, you can watch and learn about these animals from the comfort of your own home.     Marnong estate

    This beautiful property located in Melbourne’s Northern region has recently launched the “Marnong to You” online food service initiative, so locals can enjoy their fresh produce and the restaurant’s signature dishes delivered direct to customers in the comfort and safety of their own home, with a no-contact policy.
