Gippsland's Gumbuya World undergoes major redevelopment

Gumbuya World undergoes the next stages of a major redevelopment which will see the Gippsland theme park rival its international counterparts.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren announced stages 2 and 3 of the redevelopment project, which will create up to 485 jobs for Victorians once completed.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren said: “We’re supporting Gippsland, creating local jobs and growing the region’s economy – the development of Gumbuya World is a prime example of that support.”

“Tourism has never been stronger in regional Victoria and we’ll continue to promote our wonderful regions to Melburnians, other states and other countries.”

Upon completion in 2021, the theme park will offer 50 new attractions, including water slides, adventure rides, onsite accommodation, cafes, shops, a chocolate factory and a microbrewery. It will also include Indigenous, dinosaur and woolshed precincts for educational programs.

By 2022, it is anticipated that Gumbuya World will attract 750,000 visitors each year from around Australia and the globe.

Gumbuya World 's major redevelopment will be a major drawcard for business event delegates to explore regional Victoria.
