Since partnering with the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) in late 2018, MCB has secured 15 business events at CENTREPIECE worth $20 million to the state. These events have already been held or will be held within the next six months at Centrepiece.

One of CENTREPIECE’s most successful recent events was SportNXT - an innovative sports thought leadership summit hosted annually that gathers global leaders from all sectors of the sports industry to create, share and connect.

Held consecutively over the last two years, the 2023 two-day SportsNXT conference welcomed Victorian, interstate and international speakers and guests to CENTREPIECE, which was able to successfully provide unique and creative solutions to meet the client’s requirements.

This included a live golf simulator and specialised spaces set up for media attending the event, with live outside broadcasts from the venue. CENTREPIECE also showcased a display of 15+ sporting trophies that required extra care from the venue’s security team.

The venue was popular with both the speakers and guests, with the unique flexibility of the spaces providing perfect meeting spots for a variety of delegates. A range of tailored requirements were no problem for our delivery teams.

The CENTREPIECE catering team were able to deliver bespoke dietary options to meet requirements. The guests enjoyed a Victorian-first menu with delegates complimenting the venue on the selection, quality of presenting and taste.

Guests were treated to a visual seafood treat at the evening networking event with roaming oysters, scallops, salmon, and tuna with a cocktail bar serving theatrical beverages.

Following the event, the SportsNXT team shared how they loved the versatility of the venue, central location and high ceilings which provided them endless opportunities to create a great stage and production show. The auditorium was also a highlight, featuring as a breakout location and meeting space for international and national delegates.
