Drone show lights up the Docklands
January 25, 2022
Melbourne’s passion for creativity is in full display as a spectacular drone swarm transforms the skies above Victoria Harbour in the Docklands precinct this January.
The unique aerial display has been developed by internationally renowned drone art company Celestial, which delivered Edinburgh's 2020 New Year drone display, as well as a drone art creation for Amnesty International's 60th anniversary.
See the night sky sparkle this summer as 350 drones light up Docklands to tell stories in the stars. The 9:30 pm eight-minute show, runs over Victoria Harbour nightly in an enchanting visual spectacular combined with poetry soundscapes.
From 15 to 24 January, hear ‘Melbourne, Feel the Sound’, a poem about emerging into our lives again and rediscovering Melbourne, by local artist Ren Alessandra, winner of the National Poetry Slam 2020.
From 25 to 30 January, see the Wurundjeri creation story of ‘How The Platypus (Dulai Wurrung) Was Made’ come to life, told and illustrated by Wurundjeri, Dja Dja wurrung and Ngurai illum wurrung artist Mandy Nicholson.
With the longer days and warmer weather, it’s the ideal time to head out for a meal after work in The District Docklands to reconnect with colleagues. With over 30 food and dining options, there is something for everyone.
Get in touch with the team at Melbourne Convention Bureau for more ideas on ways to reconnect face to face.
