South East Asian (SEA) incentive agents were treated to an unforgettable familiarisation trip that took them to two of Victoria’s most popular regions as well as the must-do globally renowned sporting event, Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse.

From 4-7 November, eight agents from Malaysia and three from Indonesia were hosted by the ‘Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB)’ in partnership with ‘Business Events Geelong’, ‘Air Asia’, ‘Tourism Greater Geelong & Bellarine’ and ‘Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism’ to enjoy an immersive itinerary packed with exciting experiences and events, from lavish dinners and cultural experiences to hands-on activities and wildlife spotting.

Arriving on Monday 4 November via Air Asia to ‘Geelong’s Avalon Airport’, which currently operates two daily direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Geelong, agents stayed at the ‘Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders’, conveniently located close to shops and restaurants.

Agents enjoyed the ultimate ‘Melbourne Cup Carnival Experience’ at the famous VIP ‘Makybe Diva Marquee’ on Tuesday 5 November hosted by ‘Flemington’, before setting off onto their regional Victoria program which started at Mornington Peninsula that same night with a pampering experience at award-winning mineral springs, ‘Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs’.

Agents then stayed overnight at beautiful ‘Peppers Moonah Links’ to get re-energised for a full day of regional adventures on November 6, which included breathtaking coastline views onboard the ‘Arthur’s Seat Eagle’, a sculpture tour and wine tasting at ‘Pt. Leo Estate’ plus a site visit and lunch at the striking modern ‘Jackalope Hotel’.

The Mornington Peninsula day concluded with a 40 minute ferry ride which took the group across the water to Queenscliff, where they had the opportunity to spot dolphins aboard the ‘Sea All Dolphin Swims’ tour, followed by an unforgettable dinner on board the ‘QTrain’, a fine dining experience that travels along the historic Bellarine Railway.

SEA incentive agents were then taken to Geelong, Victorian region famous for its creative hubs and fabulous eateries, where they stayed one night at ‘Novotel Geelong’ located in the heart of the waterfront with amazing views across the bay. Their Geelong Itinerary included immersive sport activities at the ‘GMBHA Stadium’, which boasts the largest event space in the region, completed by a progressive dinner in one of their spaces.

During the last day of their trip, agents were taken to explore Geelong and live the true local experience. A brewery village experience incorporated a tour and tasting of two of the most loved breweries in Geelong, ‘Little Creatures’ and ‘White Rabbit’. After that, they hopped on a helicopter luxurious ride to the ultimate winery experience at ‘Jack Rabbit’, where they enjoyed a full course lavish lunch paired with local wines while appreciating unrivalled panoramic views across the bay to Melbourne.

The day was combined with an authentic cultural experience at ‘Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre’, which ended back in Geelong with an extravagant contemporary Australian-South American fusion dinner at ‘ALMA’.

The bespoke program was successfully delivered with incentive agents enjoying a wide array of immersive experiences that incentive groups can include as part of their program when choosing Melbourne and regional Victoria.
