MCB's Business Development and Research Coordinator, Simon Jacobs has been named 'ICCA Researcher of the month' for December 2019.
Here's what Simon had to say:
Why do you consider it so important to contribute your meeting information to ICCA Data?
As the ICCA database is a central hub of information for researches and others within the industry, ensuring to regularly contribute meeting information to the database improves the reputability of the information available. Updated and reliable information on the ICCA database provides a broad range of highly beneficial information when building potential leads and assisting future opportunities for a destination to be chosen as a host city. Further to this, an updated database allows a destination to track the appeal, competitiveness and strategic positing of a destination.
What would you like to say to other ICCA members who haven’t actively used the ICCA Database?
The ICCA Database is a beneficial and useful tool for researchers - it should become your first port of call when starting your initial research. The database provides an opportunity to leverage your destination as premium business events destination. It is a valuable asset which can provide intel which may not be easily available or require in-depth and time consuming research.
Do you have any tips for your fellow ICCA members?
Having a well-versed and knowledgeable understanding of the capabilities the ICCA website will greatly benefit the quality of information you are trying to obtain from the database. Keyword search is a must. Using the parameters in the search bar is a great asset and will report on the correct information that you want to obtain.
It’s incredibly important you log in to the Association Database using your own account!
The more updates you make to the Database, the greater chance you have of being named the Researcher of the Month - and we can’t be sure it’s you pressing the red button if you’re using your colleague’s details. Please help us end the confusion so this accolade continues to go to the right person.
