Set in and around the lovingly restored heritage cargo sheds on the Yarra’s edge, Melbourne Public can be found on the banks of Melbourne’s newest drinking and dining secret – South Wharf. With interiors inspired by 1920s industrial flair of polished brass, exposed beams and heritage features, Melbourne Public ensures a memorable experience every time. A dynamic mix of different function spaces means that this is a superb venue for a range of events.
The Bar Area sees this industrial flair and style injected across a large open-plan bar, creating a dynamic and versatile space for an array of functions, whilst the Dining Room’s elevated space behind the main bar offers a more private and exclusive dining experience. The north facing Terrace Deck welcomes functions all year round with its retractable rooftop and overhead heating, and exclusive use of the entire venue is available for a cocktail function of up to 1,000.
Citizen, adjoined to Melbourne Public, is a café by day, but moonlights as a private, secluded function space by night. In keeping with Melbourne Public, Citizen has its own twist on the 1920’s industrial flair, featuring vibrant terrazzo tiles. The large enclosed atrium boasts so much glass and light that it has all of the benefits of an outdoor space, whilst protecting itself against the unpredictable Melbourne weather.
With both venues positioned a leisurely stroll to the CBD, Docklands, Southbank, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and Etihad Stadium, this is a superb venue for a range of events. Whether it’s a celebratory dinner, product launch, post conference party or a casual gathering, Melbourne Public’s dedicated team can tailor a package to suit any requirement.
